Rocky poses outside the Black Abbey in Kilkenny City. The Black Abbey was established in 1225 as one of the first houses of the Dominican Order in Ireland. The name is based on the fact that the Dominicans wore black cloaks over their white habits. However, some believe the word black refers to the Dominicans' role in the Inquisition, in which they were responsible for many deaths as well as countless acts of barbaric cruelty against the accused.
