One of the major transatlantic Irish ports, Cobh was the departure point for 2.5 million of the six million Irish people who emigrated to North America between 1848 and 1950. St. Colman Cathedral stands in the background.

The building on the right was the former White Star Line offices. On April 11, 1912 approximately 120 passengers boarded the RMS Titanic from here. Cobh was Titanic's final port of call before setting out across the Atlantic on its ill-fated voyage.
